PROBLEMHypomimia, or reduced facial behavior expressivity, is a common feature and clinical hallmark of Parkinson's disease (PD).

Hypomimic symptomatology can significantly impact the patients’ social wellness and sufferers’ health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Affective experience and emotional cognition, achieved through facial expression, are increasingly impaired by PD progression. And this, in turn, frequently leads to social discrimination and disease stigmatization.
