Noël Theodosiou is Principal & CEO of Luminous, a global strategy consulting firm with teams in Boston, New York, and London. An international consultant with more than 30 years of experience, she works with leaders across the life sciences industry to ensure healthcare innovations are as successful in the real world as they are in the lab.
Theodosiou began her career in London in management consulting, helping multinational organizations generate insights, develop strategies, and build commercial capabilities. She later joined the WPP group, serving in senior roles in both London and New York. These early experiences – starting in emerging markets where data was scarce and no playbook existed – shaped her instinct to challenge assumptions, connect disciplines, and look beyond conventional industry models.
At Luminous, Theodosiou applies her outside-in approach to transform how biopharmaceutical and medtech companies develop and bring healthcare innovations to market. She helps bridge the gap between scientific possibility and human experience, integrating biological, psychological, and sociological dimensions of health with harder-to-see cultural, emotional, and social factors. Her work enables stronger adoption, trust, and better outcomes for patients, business, and society.
Theodosiou is a pioneer in applying biosemiotics to the life sciences, using it to illuminate deeper human insights that strengthen both business performance and patient experience. Under her leadership, Luminous has developed new frameworks for understanding health behaviors—how people perceive wellness and disease, what motivates treatment, and how relationships between patients and healthcare professionals shape real-world results.
Of Greek heritage and American upbringing, Theodosiou combines passion, tenacity, truth-seeking, and action orientation in equal measure. She is an honors graduate of Swarthmore College and has served as Board Chair of The Walden School and as a Board Director of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. She is based in Boston, MA.
